The Night Market and Taipei 101

Inside the Shilin Night Market which offered many different cheap snacks.

Taipei 101 was the world's tallest building from 2004 to 2009 (when Dubai's Burj Khalifa was built). It is 508 m tall with 101 floors and designed to look like a stalk of bamboo. The building is able to withstand the frequent earthquakes and tropical storms that occur in Taiwan.

This is the view from the indoor observatory on the 89th floor. The world's fastest elevator took me up in only 37 seconds.

At the outdoor observatory on the 91st floor.
